Recortes is a series of unique liquid emulsions on japanese paper and the most representative work from my first steps into the darkroom. A stage where my approach to the photographic act was experimentation in the most playful (but not trivial) sense of the word.
The series begins with a process of exploring my archive corresponding to my first years of photography. In this search and with a visceral and irrational attitude towards it, I tried to find a common echo. Through croppings and a new printing process, I ended up compiling what became for me a series of gestures; acts of love or desire, toward oneself or others, acts that respond to a kind of violence exerted from the outside.
It was made on the occasion of my first solo show at InCadaqués Festival (2022).
